How important is a pro cover in book promotion?

Think about it this way - 60% of ALL digital marketing gets ENTIRELY ignored!

Why? Well, to keep it simple, it's because of peripheral vision. If your book fulfills a customers need, their peripheral vision will automatically detect this before they decide to look at it.

A professional cover can trigger that because of the layout. Text size, balance, and contrast are extremely important! If you want to do it yourself quickly & inexpensively, The Look of Your Book makes that possible.

What information should I have on my back cover?

These templates are designed to help you improve credibility, advertise other books, add testimonials, contact information, and so much more!

Inside this Canva Pro kit, you'll know exactly what to include on your back cover. This includes tips on your content, readability, contrast, and getting the templates to fit with your word count.

Exactly what you need.

If you are going to make a one-of-a-kind book cover from a template, it NEEDS to allow for your imagery, words, and colors on them, rather than shoehorned design opinions using fake book names and images that have nothing to do with anything.

If you've ever tried designing on a template, only to give up halfway through because the color selection, imagery, and verbiage was too distracting... you know the issue here.

Our process is easy. Just take a look!

Getting to 25,000 Sales

I used to create covers that weren't very good, either.
Learning book cover design was the hardest part of self-publishing for me. I read a lot about it, and analyzed thousands of covers to learn about underlying patterns and how to replicate them. Eventually, after years of study, I began to successfully repeat those patterns. That led me to sell over 25,000 books and eventually creating a system of layout templates for the front, back, and spine designs to help other people painlessly repeat those patterns, too.

So here’s the secret I discovered it's about your text layout — Of course, it helps if you use proper contrast and a background that isn’t poorly photoshopped. But at the end of the day, you can make a book cover “look like a real book” if you focus on book cover typography layouts before anything else. This includes the back cover and spine too.

Feel free to reach out for any other questions. No question is too simple or too complicated when it comes to book cover design!
